Hey from Truro!
Hi everyone, been reading some of the forums for a while now and finally had a chance to register. Thanks to Jonathan at NG for pointing me in the direction of the website. I've just made the move to all-grain after brewing with extract for about six months or so, so I'll be picking all of your brains soon for info on equipment, techniques, etc.
Anyone else brewing in the Truro area, I'd love to chat.
Cheers,
Pete

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Hey from Truro!
Welcome Pete. I'm just a few kms out of Truro in Hilden. Nice to hear from others in the area. I've been wanting to get into Halifax for a monthly meeting to meet the guys but with shift work and life it hasn't happened yet. I think if we can find more of us we might have to ask the Brewnosers if they will sanction a Truro section called the "Brew Cats" lol. Again welcome. I've learned allot on the site and have used Ontariobeerkegs.com to order many items.

Hey Pete! I live close to Truro (Great Village)...but work in town every day. It would be great to get together with some local Truro area brewers sometime!

Re: Hey from Truro!

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
