I'm home at last

Post by derek » Sat Sep 09, 2023 8:13 pm

I'm no newbie, but d*** I'm can't find a place to just ask... do we still have regular Halifax meetings and where?

I've been in England for 8 years and sold off all my equipment to a friend in Moncton, who's now moving up to an electric system and willing to let me have mine back.

And coincidentally my sister has also moved to NS and I introduced my brother-in-law to beer making, so we're going to start making beer together.

Also need to get in on a grain buy... I'll post over there....
Currently on tap: Nothing!
In keg: Still nothing.
In Primary: Doggone American Rye Pale Ale

Welcome back Derek! We met at one my first Hoptoberfest's many years back. (possibly where Jeremy from Big Spruce showed up)I remember how kind you and your wife were to a new face. I've definitely seen Halifax meetings posted around here which seem to have ramped up again. Glad to hear you will get your gear back. Happy brewing. :spilly: :cheers2:

Welcome back! :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
