New guy from tantallon
Recently I tried homebrew for the first time in my life. I could not beleive the taste it was amazing, so last week I bought the basic kit for making homebrew off of kijiji. Excited to find this site and forums seems like a good group of people.

Welcome, it's a great hobby and very rewarding!
Did you put your first batch on yet? Ask some questions here, there's lot of experience on hand.

Re: New guy from tantallon

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Re: New guy from tantallon
Yes my first batch is on just went into the carboy last night. Got plastic bottles with my kit but I hear that glass is much better for the taste and the beer is colder. So I am trying to find some good resealable glass bottles so I do not have to worry about bottle caps. I went to noble grape and got the brown ale festa kit. I am in Birch Bear Woods subdivision so very close to Westwood, good to see a local brewer. Next batch I will try doing the grains etc instead of the abra-ca-dabra box of beer.
