Gluten-Free Beer

Post by M8817 » Sun Feb 21, 2016 11:05 pm

Hi All,

New to the board and digging for information. I use to use beer kits but I was diagnosed with celiac disease back last year. I tried a gluten-free kit (Silly Yak), it's good but expensive.

I was hoping to find out if anyone had made a batch of gluten-free beer without Clarity Ferm?

Thanks for all the help :)

Clarity ferm works great so I don't bother making beer using millet, buckwheat and sorghum. They are very expensive and make a much lesser product. You can get all grain kits using those grains from Torontobrewing.ca but i don't have any experience with them. They came out well after clarity ferm hit the market so I didn't experiment with them.

Let me know if you have any questions about clarity ferm or anything else celiac related. The transition in the first year or two is a bit of a pain and the dietician clinic at the hospital isn't very helpful (or at least it wasn't three years ago when I took the class).

I've had bad reactions commercial beverages that say to may contain wheat (gluten) and I don't really feel like being out of commission. So, I think in away it's just a general fear of going through that much pain again.
