Not that any of us need an excuse for IPA, but apparently today is International IPA Day. A good day to ponder the fact that less than 6 years ago when Propeller launched its IPA, there were virtually no bottled IPAs available in the Maritimes and I only say that because we had Magnotta at Vinart for a bit but I can't recall the exact dates. Now we've got a single store that carries 13 of them and has a dedicated section on their website: http://premierwines.ca/store/category/2 ... -Pale-Ale/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; There's not a craft brewer around that doesn't have one, and Nash basically provides us with single, double, triple, and/or quadruple IPAs on a regular basis. Even the LC has 7 listed right now. We've come a long way...

Now all we need? More hops!

Cheers to that. LD and I did an IPA run at the LC, got some Mad Tom and St Ambroise. Starting with a homebrew.

I'm interested to know what the St. Ambroise is like. I'd be disappointed if it wasn't up to the Oatmeal Stout standards...

The St Ambroise is definatley an English IPA, it was good - worth a try for sure.

I think you'll probably be disappointed. It was really odd. Not even in a English IPA sort of way. Citrus leaned toward lemony and grassy and I didn't find that went well with the malts. The Mad Tom, however, I thought was really good. Interestingly, reminded me of a stronger St. Ambroise Pale.

Guess I'll give it a try. Can you buy singles?
