That link is for the Stillwell Waterfront article in the Coast. Where is the Boxing Rock deal from?

Are they redeemable at NSLC?

At the Herald Shop, they have discounts on purchases (on top of the already discounted gift cards). The additional discount is added to the cart automatically.
Buy 3+ get 40% off.
Buy 2, get 35% off.
Buy 1, get 25% off.

No idea how long it's good for. I don't see it advertised anywhere on their site.

Boxing Rock cards are now $32 for $50. So.. if you wanted all Boxing Rock cards to max out the deal, get $150 in gift cards for $57.60

Thanks for the heads-up! I missed the $35 for a $50 card the first time around but I guess I'm glad I waited. Last night I was indeed able to get 3 x $50 gift cards for $57.60 taxes in.

Cards are currently listed at $32 for a $50 card, but it does appear they've killed the additional discount.

Didn't Bishop's Cellar get in trouble for doing this on TeamBuy or Groupon? Not that they should, mind you, but I can't see how this would be any different.

How do you even use these things? I wouldn't think they would work at a NSLC store

At the brewery. Or, as was previously confirmed, at the Alderney Landing or Seaport Markets. And since I tend to grab a couple of 1L swing tops each weekend at the Seaport Market, this is an awesome deal for me. I might even spring for a tshirt or some glassware!

When it did work it showed up in the cart, so I didn't have to buy blind to see if it would work.

I should also mention since somebody's comment above made me a little worried that BR was getting screwed. The cards came yesterday and in the back it says:

"This gift card is an agreement between merchant and the The Chronicle Herald" and also "This gift card is property of The Chronicle Herald." So my guess is that there's a wholesale agreement between BR and the Herald and the Herald is bearing any discount provides to individual purchasers.

Ah I'll probably still pick one up. Can you use them anywhere in Halifax? Planning on heading there this summer and cant argue with discounted tasty beer!

I can confirm that they work at the Seaport Market and I assume the same goes at Alderney Market as well. I honestly don't know how many days a week BR are in either location. I can only vouch for Saturdays at Seaport myself.

I don't imagine the cards work at NSLC stores.

Am I crazy, or is the original $35 for $50 gone? It seems now that the cards are $45, but the stacking discount is working. So $81 for $150 in gift cards. Not as great as before, but close to 50% off.

All the gift cards on there right now appear to be minor discounts. Possibly changed so that they don't hemorrhage money when applying the multi-buy discount. Not sure if that's legal, but with the additional 40% off it still works out to be pretty good. I missed out last time, so thanks for posting!

Right now the Chronicle Herald is having a boxing weekend promo December 26-28 - 50% off when using the promo code HSBOXINGDAY. I checked and it works out to $22.50 for a $50 Boxing Rock gift card which they normally have for $45. This coupon is great in that you don't have to buy 3 to maximize the savings.

I have a couple already from the last sale and used one at the Seaport Market - they just hand-write the remaining amount on the GC.
