Distillerie Fils du Roy

Post by Houblon34 » Thu Dec 11, 2014 11:47 am

I wasn't aware, but I guess they (he) brewed a beer that's ready for hitting the shelves, but as usual, red tape at NB Liquor is slowing down the process.

"There are a lot of people that are asking us when our beer will be ready. The answer is that the beer is ready and we got approbation from Revenues Canada, Food Inspection Canada and Public Safety.

Unfortunately we just learn that Alcohol NB just changes the rules for small alcohol producer and now the Vice-President of Alcohol NB need to take the decision if they will accept our beer to be sold in New Brunswick, there next meeting is in February 2015.

From here to there, it’s impossible for us to sale our beer in New Brunswick. We are very confident that there decision will be positive and they will allow us in the New Year to sale our new product. We are very sorry for this inconvenient.

Arrgh. Ridiculous. They should just sell it all to Stillwell and Bishop's as an FU to ANBL.

On the positive side nice to see an Eisbock made locally. Love their Gin and would love to get my hands on some of their other stuff.

Hm... If a brewery could make beer in one province and then sell it in another before getting provincial liquor monopoly approval... That would be awesome

This sort of happened in Quebec. Dieu de Ciel started selling bottles in the US long before they were allowed to sell bottles in Quebec outside of their own brewpub. For that they had to build an entirely separate brewery with a completely different licence.
