Cicerone Exam

Hey all, I saw some interest in the Cicerone exam in another topic, but didn't want to hijack.
How many people would be interested in taking the Certified Cicerone exam in Halifax?
I see that chalmers mentioned a possibility in 2015. How likely is that?
I'd like to take the exam, and am considering travelling for it, but Halifax would be easier.
It would probably be worth getting together to study like we did for the BJCP exam. Hell, joining the BJCP study group for tasting and then having other study sessions for the theory/history would interest me.

You've done the beer servers exam?
I'd like to do it, but was planning to take my time (Maybe 2016). Learning as much as possible through the resources provided is more of a priority to me than getting a bit of paper.

Yep, I wrote the CBS after speaking with Mirella at the ACBAs.
After the BJCP exam this feels like a good step. The outline is helping me focus my learning, and knowing when exams are scheduled will help me decide if I can be ready in time.
So if there was an exam in 2015, you wouldn't be interested?

2015 is a month away. I've only just got the "road to cicerone course on British beers." It would take me a while to be ready for that exam I think. Like you say though some pressure on might help.

Well the Cicerone site only lists exams out to April, so chances are any Halifax exam would be after that. Perhaps a fall exam would work?
Toronto seems to run fall exams, and that's probably where I would travel to if necessary.

They say you need a minimum of 6 interested people to schedule an exam. I wasn't sure if people would be interested/ready so I travelled for mine, but would have been nice to stay local. When I wrote in Montreal, though, there were only 3 of us. Maybe Mirella had something else on the go so she didn't mind doing a smaller exam? Or maybe people backed out last minute? In any case they did it for only 3 of us, so maybe they're flexible with that "6 minimum" rule.
