Cool, looking forward to trying the beers out. I was really loving the pale ale they had at the brewers bash.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Great to see they are putting a brewer in place. Looking forward to heading down there again.

I wonder if they will be rearranging the brewery.

She's been the one in charge of the barrel projects sent to SW. I've enjoyed them.

Didn't Kellie (sp?) at Garrison graduate from that program as well? Or did Karen just graduate before her?

If by bbl projects you mean Cask ales then you are correct.

Xman: there is no 1 yr program. Not sure if Kelleye graduated the same yr or the yr after, or how many other females went through the program. At the end of the day nobody gives a fuck who did first anything. Except Tightass.

They aren't rearranging the brewery much; they are reconnecting the two 'display' fermenters and one brite tank where the 'staff booth' in the corner was. The fourth brite tank will be a 'display' unit parked outside the main entry door in the hall by Two If By Sea Cafe. That'll just piss people off as they try to walk through in summer.

Karen's awesome and I wish her the best of luck. I helped her plow the first brew through the system yesterday and she's going to do great with it. Please please don't ever fall down that god-damned stairwell/ladder though! :cheers2:

I thought there were some one year courses beer courses at niagara, maybe not brew master though...

And those stairs were exactly what I was thinking of.

Yeah, Jesus. I need to stay the hell out of there, don't really want to push my luck any further!

Just the one beer course to the best of my knowledge.

I was just going to post this, as Chris Long told me today that she made the move. You beat me to it! Not surprising, since she's from NS.

First PEIBC loses Bryan, now Karen. Thank goodness we still have Chris! I know he's taking over the cask stuff now, but I think he mentioned others like Symond may be able to try a few more things. We'll have to wait and see what happens!
