All I do is read the news and cook all day.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Tangent: I think Beau's is on the right track with their marketing and packaging. The beers I tried were from decent to good. (Better than most brewed in ON) Lug Tread was good, but nothing to write home about. They suffer from a very limited distro. I think they are packaging "tweener" beers in nice looking bottles, basically a bottle to catch the eye of people interested in entering the World of micro-brewed beer, the beer is not particularly interesting, but "different enough," while also being non-offensive to a Macro drinker... If that makes any sense.

I would agree with that 100%. Lug Tread is good, but not awesome. Originally packaged in stoneware flip top bottles (now glass with crown caps) that was just meant to stand out on the shelf.

That said, you would have to twist my arm to get me to try this Beaver River beer.

I really enjoyed Lug Tread. Now the Beaver River IP eh I would say "is good, but not awesome". Man it's great to have Chalmers as a neighbor :cheers2: , i've never tried so many beers :drunk:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I don't even live in the same province as chalmers, and I've already benefited from his generosity!

LOL, LD and I seem to be simpatico, especially that Nogne thing.
I've still got a bottle of the Beaver River I can bring next meeting.
Did not bring one bottle from QC and Ont this short trip, so sad. :(
I'm off to St John's next week, not sure if there will be anything exciting to bring back. And no US trips scheduled until July.
