Never heard of him before.....is he a regular beer poster for the Maritimes? Is he on Brewnosers?

Somebody forwarded me the link. Some of it doesn't sound like 'original' material.

I can't comment on the original part, but it was about as exciting to listen as watching paint dry. Or is that just me?

No. It needs some work.

Him and a few other guys do a Friday night beer and local news show. I kinda know what you are talking about when it may not be original material.

Sometimes I know when NOT to read or watch something. This is one of those times.

The content is good, I thought, topical and useful, although I am not up on these things and might not be the right person to judge.
It might be better if he posted it as text. I had to keep re-winding as I was missing things, and wanted to check what I heard.
I think he was reading it as he spoke, you can see the reflection of what looks like a computer screen in his glasses. A bit like when someone reads a speech from a piece of paper, they don't hold your attention well.

After a quick google of some of the text from the youtube page, I'd say it has already been posted as text.

Is it a direct read from one source or is it a collation. If it is a collation, that might be a useful service.

Aggregators are fine, so long as you give credit to the original sources. See Natalie MacLean.

You made it farther than me. He didn't seem to now his own copy very well and made we doubt he wrote it.

I hope you're not making fun of his literacy skills because, well, because of what you just wrote.

Those are typos not bad grammar. I had not issue with the presenter's literacy skills. I found it difficult to watch because it was felt as though it was his first time reading through the text and he was unfamiliar with it.
The reflection of the monitor on his lenses made it worse. I would rather see someone look down and read from a sheet of paper in front of them.

The guy's name is Todd Beal. After splitting my Twitter interests into two accounts yesterday, he started following my beer one. He's @ToddtheBeerDude

It's almost a direct read, with the order of the topics changed a little bit.

Ugh... I just went down the vapid hole of his Twitter feed. There's 10mins I'll never get back.

Fresh off the press - it looks as though he's taken some of your advice.
He's also our newest member

Welcome, Todd. Keep doing what you enjoy with the local beer reporting, and I will continue to watch what you've got to share.

Hello Todd,
That’s getting more polished Todd. I think it’s going to get better and better too.
That’s a useful service for me as I’m not very in touch with these things. I watched it last time and found it useful also.
This time it was much more easy to follow. I think a few practice reads before going on air, as akr71 said, might give it another polish. You are more relaxed and coming through as a much more personable and friendly chap, less detached. Those are my viewers comments….I don’t think I would have the balls to have a go at something like that myself.
What do you think about Mr. X’s comment about giving credit to your sources? I’m still not sure if that is required, but I don’t know about these things. Do those sources give credit to their sources? if they do, then it might be something to consider.
I liked the pauses and the mouse clicks between each item this time as it gave me time to digest each item, so I didn't have to keep rewinding, like I did last time, and somehow I found there was no pretence with the mouse clicks (not appearing to be something it wasn’t, like a CBC news cast or something).
You said on that video. “Uncle Leos is saying they will have Red and IPA available tomorrow, Saturday…they’ve had some supply issues there, so get there early”
Stuff like that is time sensitive and very helpful.
I’d like it if you would be able to post your youtube for me, on this site as soon as it is available…would you be able to do that? I think that would be great! And people might also chip in with other topical stuff they know about, unless you would prefer to have a dedicated “Maritime Beer Report” thread.
I think your video is a brilliant idea. I’m a follower.
Welcome. And cheers.
Ps. Saying on that video ... yeah! People's suggestions have been helpful, and so here’s the new one, (my synopsis of your eloquent comment at the end) shows a pretty big character
pps. If this takes off, and I think it might. Breweries etc will have their own direct contact lines with you, and you might become the hottest source of Beer and brewing news…that’s an exciting prospect! Also people on this site might also be able to supply some information for the report, if you ran a news thread on here.
BTW If Todd preferred not to run a news thread himself. I wonder if the admin here would run a dedicated local beer and brewing “news thread” to keep us all up to date. I would like to see the maritime beer report on there, fresh and hot off the press.

It's frightening how the social media generation has show disregard for source accreditation. WTF are schools teaching these days? I learned this stuff in grade 9...
