Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
I understand that many people on here have pumps that need ½” British standard pipe thread fittings that can only be purchased in Britain (maybe Australia too, not sure). I am going to England on Sunday to see my mother. If anyone wants to order them online before June 9th and have them delivered c/o my mother in the UK, I will bring them back for you when I come on the 19th June. If you want to do that, contact LiverDance or GAM for my mother’s address (I have given it to them both by pm). I won’t be online after Saturday as my mother doesn’t have a computer. LiverDance seems to be up on the fittings needed, he also has UK supplier links.
Go for it!

Re: Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
Thanks Mark!
OK guys and gals, let's figure out what everyone wants to do. To make it easier on everyone, we should aim for a single order, and need to do it before too long. How about we cut it off Friday June 7 at 12:01AM, and order it Friday morning?
It looks like RS is currently down (http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/plumbing- ... couplings/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), but they've got a wide selection of couplings.
Other option is: http://www.angelhomebrew.co.uk/en/12-camlock-fittings" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (for those with camlocks) or http://www.angelhomebrew.co.uk/en/7-taps-and-fittings" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

You don't need to order BSPP fittings from the UK. I can buy them at B&N distributors in Port Hawkesbury.

1/2" BSP Type A Camlock (http://www.angelhomebrew.co.uk/en/camlo ... tting.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and 1/2" BSP Hose barbs (might need a coupler to use it, as the pump is male).
Thanks!

Re: Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
I'll see what I can do. I believe they have BSPP to NPT adaptors as well, so you could use standard NPT threaded camlocks etc.
Don't forget you will need a bonded washer to make the face seal of the BSPP.

Re: Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
I was camping this weekend.
I missed this.
I will take 1/2" barb or a cam in SS.
Let us know.
The time frame for Grock is short thought. I am not too worried about the glass and payment. It will work out, but if the UK deal is needed we need to be on the ball.

We sure do, but at $25+ per adapter, we're trying to save a few bucks. Unless I'm looking at the wrong stuff, and am happy to be corrected.

If it was a big seller, do you have a link to help us narrow down the search? Thanks!Downs wrote:I got my fittings from ebay.co.uk

I found this:

Re: Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
LD and Sandy: looks like it's just the three of us looking for parts. Barring any great news from spears, Downs or ratchet, if you are OK with the Cam type A, Sandy (can be used as a barb with the tubing we've got), then we should order 6 of those.
I contacted AngelBrew this morning, as I tried to add them to a cart, but they are not showing any stock. I'll let you know what I hear.
The homebrewbuilder.co.uk site does have them in stock, a few bucks more expensive, but still reasonable.
Instead of waiting till Friday, we could do it tomorrow or Thursday.
Other folks interested in these pieces: speak up now, or forever hold your peace.

They are pretty expensive, but if you're sub-150psi, you could get away with the low-pressure stainless fittings.
1/2" 4810T224 $13.34ea
Still not cheap, but if you're stuck, it's always an option.

Re: Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
Looks Like Graham wants the same thing as me.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Then the cost of the camlock piece or barb (which might require another coupler).
Now you see what we've been dealing with.

Re: Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
1/2" BSPP female to 1/2" NPT male SS adapter at B&N is about $20 (that is their cost with no mark up!) Ross is working on pricing for the other items and looking into other options (possible food grade plastic fittings.) I'll advise when I know something.

Re: Pump Fittings - British Standard Pipe Thread
UPDATE: I've purchased eight 1/2" BSP Cam A fittings (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0920371540" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), total is $68, so $17 per person for 2 fittings (Sandy, LD, Graham and I).
Delivery to Cornwall is expected in one week, so plenty of time before Mark returns to NS. Once I have a tracking number, I will update.

In a pinch, it will be a reasonable barb with a hose clamp or zip tie.

Just wave a Brewnoser sign or just a bottle of beer.
But im also very happy to mail them when I get back to Wolfville.
Ive been collecting info on real ale and pictures to write a post and also
so I can make it
