Training your palate

Post by sleepyjamie » Fri May 17, 2013 6:15 pm

Lately i've been trying to train my palate more. I have hard time formulating words from my taste bud senses. What have you guys done to train your palate? Are there any particular methods you swear by, or techniques to offer?
On Tap:

Simcoe SMaSH
Topaz SMaSH
Cranberry Rye Saison

I keep telling my wife that the reason I keep buying beer even though I make it is for "research"

There is a tasting wheel somewhere on this site, but definitely on another site that helps with describing a beer's tastes
