Beerthief in NS this week

Post by Beerthief » Sun Apr 28, 2013 6:58 pm

Hi folks, I'm going to be in Haifax/Dartmouth this week doing my BST if anyone wants to meet up for a pint somewhere. I'm staying at the MicMac HOtel in Dartmouth but I will have wheels if I plan to stay sober. It would be good to meet some of you folks.

cheers
mike

BST? Unfortunately, I won't be around...
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I'll be around, and up for a pint. I can't do Wednesday. Friday night would be best for me, but I expect you'll be on a flight home by then. Thursday doable for folks?

I can come probably. Have a few things here and there, but nothing that blocks a whole night

How about Tuesday, then? Unless Friday works.
Pints at a pub, or interim BN meeting?

As it stands right now Tuesday is good for me.

BST is Basic Survival Training for working on offshore oil installations-for me primarily offshore Newfoundland.

Ok, now someone decide when and where we're meeting. My work schedule tomorrow is screwy, so I will show up where I'm told.

I'm easy. Where does Mike want.

I'd suggest the Heart & Thistle and or Rock Bottom. Especially if we can get the cranky brewer to join us.

Hart n thistle would be easy for him to get back to his hotel without driving if he likes - although the walk from the ferry might be a little long for most people's liking

I don't mind a walk, plus I can cab if need be. How about Heart and Thistle tomorrow if you say it's easy for me to get to? What time works for people? I'm meeting with John Allen for a pint earlier in the afternoon I think but free after that.

Did we pick a time?

I could be around anytime after 4:30.

We did not set a time, I'll post up here when I get a sense of my meeting with John. My guess is closer to six? I will have to get the wee ferry over etc.

I'm working in Windsor today, so 6 is probably the earliest I can do. Again, I defer to the group, will show up when I'm told.

6 sounds fine. The last ferry trip is at 10:15 (ridiculous) but if you stay too late, the number 1 bus will take you just about as close.

Perhaps you should go to the Rock Bottom first, then walk down to the Hart and Thistle? I'm at a meeting at the Triangle at 7:30, and could join y'all when it's done.

I have a reasonably large day swimming in the wave tank tomorrow so a 10:15 ferry might be a good idea :spilly:

Done here for the day, hoping to get together with John before 4

Thanks for the great time last night, gents!

I wandered in a bit late at H&T, where we stayed for some beers and food.
A quick detour by Bearly's to see Roger Howse play a set, then on to Rockbottom for a couple more pints.
