Commercial bock or other dark lager

Post by HoweFox » Sat Sep 08, 2012 4:34 pm

I have it in my head that I really like bocks or other dark lagers, but I can't think of any commercial beers that are bocks. Does anyone know of one? I think I must have had them more when I was on the west coast. I especially remember a Marzen that I loved, but can't remember the brewer. Any ideas?

The Garrison schwarzbier is good. Waterloo dark is reasonable too. IIRC, there is a weizenbock at the nslc. Check premieres website.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

IMO Les Trois Mousquetaires has a really good doppelbock and wizenbock.

Had Holsten's Maibock last night. You can get it at pretty much any NSLC (including tiny ones like Cheticamp). My girlfriend and I thought it was just OK (but we aren't really bock fans).
