Our low trellis setup is doing pretty good this year, despite the drought. We also had a bad infestation of comma butterflies. Looks pretty good though for 2 year old plants. Let`s see what everyone else`s look like.

Well, mine don't look anything like that good (and the picture I took last night only shows the one plant), but given that I've killed my hops the last three times I tried them, these in my greenhouse are a joy to behold.

My Cascade and Columbus are doing well. Centennial are still slow, but a lot better than last year. All 3 are second year crops. The ones I planted this year (a bit late) aren't going to produce much if anything.

Good job! You might still get some from planting late. Ours went in late last year and it just pushed the harvest date back a month.

Thanks! I think I might end up with a few cones on my Chinook, but my Galena hasn't produced anything at all above ground, and my second Centennial is really small. My other Centennial plant was the same last year, but took off a lot better this year.

Sorry bout the crappy blackberry pictures, but my cascade and centennial are doing good (pictures from 4weeks ago, cascade is 9' before running up trellis lines)

These are my fourth year plants, that's nugget on the right, then cascade, and the two on the left are goldings.

Here they are, from the side. The cascade and nuggets will be a big harvest, not so much the goldings. They get big, but they don't produce as much.

All of them, but probably not all from each plant. I'll see when I get out there, but the ones lower down may need another few days or so. Also, I have limited drying space.

Seems a bit early yet to me but I also haven't looked at my hops yet this week. Although it has been an early growing season, I didn't pick mine last year until about 2 weeks from now and even that was too soon - but I was worried about losing them to the hurricane.

It's looking look I'll be starting to harvest in the next week as well at least my Columbus and Cascade anyway.

Some are just earlier than others. Mine are usually ready this time of year, a few of them are already starting to brown a bit.

does anyone here have a food vacuum sealer i can borrow? i want to vacuum seal my hops and also the ones from the group buy as i dont plan on using all of them this year.

yeah shitty i can't seem to find a vacuum sealer for less than 70bucks!! keeping my eyes open though!

IMO, vacuum sealers are one of those things that if you're going to buy a super cheap model, don't bother. I owned a couple cheap ones and they were all garbage - better off with a ziplock bag and a straw.

I have a food saver with a wet setting and a rival seal a meal that i got for $7 and $5 at Value Village. It's worth a look now and then.

Do they work any good? I think I had a rival previously and it was a POS. I got a snorkel vac (
http://www.sorbentsystems.com/sinbosealer.html) as a gift about a year ago and I've been pretty happy with it. You have to be careful and make sure you get a complete seal melted all the way across the bag, but otherwise I can't complain.
