German Pilsner Malt Supplier

Post by DWagner » Fri Aug 11, 2023 2:13 pm

Dear Brewnosers,

Is there a source locally in HRM for Wyermann Pilsner malt? Contact through BSG suggested either local breweries who may assist adding a bag to their order. From what I have tasted on the craft Pilsner side it appears Viking is most in use.

My Helles is running out and I could use a hand in getting resupplied.

Thanks

David

I've seen it on the odd group buy but not often. Truro water and wine used to order it in for me but they got out of the grain business. I'd call Brew HQ and see if they can put it on their next order. They had bags of Best a few months ago but no Wyermann. If you are in a rush you may have to order it online. I'm also of fan of many of their malts including their Munich II.

Used to have access to Weyermann and sadly don't now. I would love to change that.

I’d also love to have Weyermann as an option

BrewHQ and Noble Grape stock "German Pilsner" which is generally BestMalz (although I'm pretty sure I've been served out of a Weyermann bag at least once at NG Bayers Lake). I like the Best, but I get that some people tend to prefer Weyermann. Regardless of what it is, it's also pretty spendy at the batch level.
