Yet another brewery planned for Halifax?

Post by Brewnoser » Thu Sep 30, 2010 9:42 am

While at Propeller's launch of the Alpha Dog yesterday I heard a rumour that there is another brewery planned for the area. Someone named "Josh Lake" has advertised on a pro brewer site for a brewmaster for a new startup here in Halifax? That's all I got at the moment.

Interestingly, the idea of Nash's thing actually ever making beer was met with skepticism...

That's interesting news on the new brewery - sounds like a bit of a dreamer to me, but who knows. I might e-mail him for fun.

Not so great on the Nash thing, I really hope that goes through... :x
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

If Nash's thing does follow through he should hook up with this guy and see what happens. He's got to get his product out somehow, cause there are lots of us waiting for more choices from him :D
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

My understanding from talking to Greg Nash a couple of weeks ago, is that he now has a space, the floors redone and sealed, and canning equipment, etc. ready to go in. Beer production is supposed to be on a timeline of months now.

That's what he told me. I don't know about putting beer in tins, though... I guess I just have to pretend it's like a very small corny keg
Currently on tap: Whiter Shade of Pale!
In keg: .
In Primary: Nothing
