Going to Maine/Vermont in August for vacation (mainly beer influenced) on recommendations for Breweries or pubs/ bars to check out?

Ebenezer's Restaurant & Pub in lovell Maine is a fantastic place.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

If you're going to be in Portland you could spend a few days there alone - Allagash, Foundation, Austin Street & Battery Steel are all in the same spot and all great. Then there's Bissell Bros, Lone Pine, Liquid Riot and a few more.
As mentioned, Maine Beer Co is a must & is in Freeport so on the way in to Portland.
I've not been to Vermont breweries myself yet but Alchemist make the famous Heady Topper so that would be on the list and I personally thought Sip of Sunshine from Lawson's Finest Liquids was the best IPA I'd ever had so that brewery would be a must for me whenever I'm lucky enough to go on that Vermont trip.
Have a great trip, let us know where you get to so we can live vicariously!

The Blackback pub and Prohibition Pig are great beer spots in Waterbury. Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier is also great. The Farmhouse in Burlington is also a nice spot.
