Oktoberfest at NSLC?

Post by BobbyOK » Fri Oct 14, 2011 9:06 pm

Was at the LC on Portland Street and found Paulaner Oktoberfest in a 1L can complete with decent 1L mug to go with it. I assume it doesn't qualify as a Stein if it's plain old glass? I didn't see it in the store, but the Occasions magazine they had there shows they're also selling Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Online inventory shows it mostly sold out around Halifax. Was it here and I missed it or is it just arriving?

All I can say is that it's definitely not at the Young St SS NSLC.

I grabbed a 6 pack of Sam Adams Oktoberfest last weekend here in Amherst and my brother in law grabbed a couple of those Paulaner sets. They didn't have a lot of SA by the looks of things, only about a dozen six packs.

They also had some Okanagan Springs Pale Ale that I grabbed a six pack of and it reminded me why I never bought it when I lived in Alberta and could get it regularly.

No, I don't need any thanks. I've got way to much beer as it is here, lol.

One can never have too much beer, unless the wife tells you so.

There was some in Elmsdale last week when I went through. Might even be some in NG. Do you want one if I can find it?

No need to grab any. If I really get the urge I'll try Clyde Street.

A ~1L mug is a "Maß" (which is a unit of measure equivalent to almost 1L, but more than a Qt) and any mug made from stone is a "stein." Most English-speakers use "stein" to refer to a "Maß." Either way, it's a big mug. I hardly pull my Maß out.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.
