Has anyone mailed beer to the U.S. I have a buddy that wants to try one of my beer. Is it possible to send it in the mail?
Thanks for your input.

I have not sent beer via the mail myself. I only know what I've read on here. I believe it's not aloud with Canada Post and some others. Brewers have had it delivered to Breweries using "Yeast samples of for analysis" etc. Not sure about home addresses. If you say it's beer it may not get there. You could trying calling Fed Ex and Purolator to ask.

I've sent beer in Canada using CP and whatever they say it has never been a problem (packaged well). To the US would be trickier. I'll ask a friend who I'm positive has done it before...

Other members have sent beer in small quantities labeled "Yeast Samples for Analysis"

My friend said he sends his labelled collectible glass. Has only had 1 sent back to him out of hundreds. He said having stuff sent this way from US can be trickier. Usually good coming across border through Quebec. Through MB is another story and will often flag your name...

Keep in mind that Canada Post hands off parcels to USPS when you mail to the states, and IIRC mailing alcohol via USPS is actually a felony (not that they would extradite you for it, but you may find it rather difficult to travel to the USA afterwards). Oddly it's not illegal to ship alcohol via UPS/Fedex/whatever other private courier.

Thanks for the help and info. I guess my buddy will not get any beer mail from me as it sounds very risky.
