Super stoked about this, though we're not sure of the format for the event just yet (tickets or no, timing, etc.). We'll let you know closer to the event!

Re: Official Stillwell Thread
Anyone know the story on the Beer Garden tender? It was supposed to be settled quickly by HRM last month, then suddenly no decision....
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Official Stillwell Thread
Last I saw, was that they had "extended our evaluation period. Will announce publicly around mid Jan". As well, the waterfront development commission also stated that "an agreement would need to be in place before announcing", so it wouldn't surprise me if we don't hear for several weeks yet...mr x wrote:Anyone know the story on the Beer Garden tender? Just a reminder that a few of us are heading to Stillwell today at noon. I'll be there with B.S. t-shirts, and to enjoy some food and beer.

Don't know if you guys caught this today, but we've got the details of Péché Day sorted. It's Saturday the 27th, and we'll be tapping all six beers from noon, no tickets required. I've tried the Péché Veniel & BBA variants before, both really great. Péché aux Pêche is a pretty funny concept, looking forward to that one too.

Looking forward to it! 6 glasses of stout starting at noon is going to make for a special day - that's for sure!

Re: Official Stillwell Thread
Forgive the spam beer brothers and sisters, but we have a second event in February, too, and we've got the details together.
We're welcoming Tatamagouche on Valentine's day. We feel like this brewery is doing great work and deserves a proper feature to showcase the breadth of their work, so we'll have 12 (plus three casks) of the best, ranging from their crushable stuff (North Shore, RR #2 Lager) to their hoppy stuff (Deception Bay; Deadeye DIPA; Dreadnot) their bigger stuff (RIS, Barleywine) and two vintages (2014, 2015) of their barrel-aged Dreadnot.
We also brewed a collab with them just for this party, called "Englishish". It's aiming to be a dry kind of crushable west-coast pale ale in body and spirit, but fermented with English yeast and heavily hopped with EKGs and Fuggles (both smelling amazing on brew day). Pretty big dry hop too. We love these hops, especially our resident Englishman.
On the food front, Graeme and the kitchen team are doing tongue-in-cheek "Lovers" and "Loners" menus. Lovers, featuring scallops, oysters, braised lamb heart and chocolate paté; Loners featuring a bucket of chicken, personal tub of cookie dough ice cream, and tempura donair strips. Pretty wild stuff.
Tickets are $20, getting you entrance, an event t-shirt and a 12-oz pour of Englishish. They're selling well in the first couple of days; if you're interested I'd scoop 'em up sooner than later at tataxstillwell.eventbrite.ca

Re: Official Stillwell Thread
Was more than a bit disappointed to hear the news about the beergarden space being awarded to someone else. Would've loved to see the scoring sheets.
Hope you guys find some other space(s) to use it! Like a food truck with significantly more difficult licensing

I am also disappointed. I know the amount of work it takes to build a spot with WDC, it is a lot of man hours gone up in smoke.
I say you one up them and find a way to put one on Citadel Hill!

Thanks guys. We were preeeetty surprised if I'm being honest; last year went really well and the feedback was good from all concerned. We're not too bothered though; the views down there were nice, but it also got real chilly at night. We're stoked for Beergarden 2.0!
