I guess it's my business background talking...

I'd love to see it happen, just anticipating the reasoning against it.

Oh it's definitely not feasible for a slew of reasons. But I'll axe

I spent the day down at the Halifax harbour front with the family and had a fabulous day. I ended up going to Hart & Thistle as I really wanted to try some of Nash's beers. Once we got sat down I found out that there were none of his beers on tap. :( The waitress didn't know why but just said that none were available. I was disappointed but oh well. I found that the food there was really good, although our waitress had the personality of a rock and her service sucked.

Yeah that's unfortunate but the way it is down there sometimes. In the Hart and Thistle thread you'd see there's basically been no beer there for weeks on end, the glycol chiller blew and we had to have one custom built. It was about 3 weeks late arriving :? The new chiller is installed now and the first two beers launch in the morning. You should have got in touch with me and I would have filled you in AND made sure you had a taste or 5 of the beers  Hopefully you found your way to RB for some beers though :cheers2:

I actually meant to post this in the H&H thread instead of here......my bad. It's too bad that I didn't keep up to date in the H&R thread and knew that the chiller was down. Unfortunately I didn't make it to RB as the kids were getting a little tired and I had to make my way back to NB. Next time as I've been really anxious to try your beers!

I like the glass idea, and there are ways to make it work. Perhaps they would only be used to serve the firkin, or for other specialities, rather than general Friday night drunks. The Saint John Ale House holds on to numbered glasses for the cask ale club, only one is broken that I know of. On the one hand, dedicated glasses take up space, on the other, regulars like nice glassware, and the current blank glasses seem cheap.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Umm.. the firkin isn't a Brewnosers beer though (well.. Nash is a Brewnoser, but you know what I mean).

I think Brewnoser glasses for serving the collaboration beers is a great idea. Might get folks asking about us, spreading the word, etc. I'd be down with a small subsidy from the grain buys going towards making it happen (if breakage/etc is a problem).

I was kind of thinking that too - I really can't see them buying the glasses given the price, but it might be more likely to happen if the club absorbed some of the cost. When big breweries have glasses at pubs, do they usually supply them for free or does the pub have to buy them?

There's a good idea too, though it runs in to that space issue I mentioned. I'm sure they could find a way though - the packed breweries in Germany pull it off.

Yeah, I see you point but figure they don't need any more reasons not to consider it.

Better that we think of the reasons they might come up, in order to brainstorm on how to alleviate their concerns, no?

That makes perfect sense. Or change the initial presentation anticipating/resolving the concerns before they even have chance to consider them.

Groovy. Should I start gauging interest in a randall event for the 15th?

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I still haven't tested the beast with beer but I don't see that as a reason not to go ahead

It's gonzo, kaput, the rats are eating hops in crack-whore alley. It only took me another couple hours and 1 litre of sweat to finish cleaning the god-damned mess you made there :rockin:
