Would there be any interest in incorporating the Brewnosers as a society, and would it help with this? I don't know how much that would cost, but I incorporated a company once with a Halifax office and it cost $1,200. If it was an option that would enhance the powers of the Brewnosers for this kind of thing, I would chip in $50 - $100.
Actually, Jeff and his fellow original Brewnosers, on legal advice, intentionally did NOT want to create an official Brewnosers organization, and keeping a buying program separate from the Brewnosers seems to continue to be a good reason.

The idea was that if the Brewnosers has an official existence, it also has liability. If we incorporated a Brewnosers society solely for the purpose of importing beer, then if something happened at (or on the way home from) a Brewnosers event, the directors of the Brewnosers society could be sued. If the event had been advertized here, it would be really hard to prove it was in no way connected to the society.
Currently on tap: Whiter Shade of Pale!
In keg: .
In Primary: Nothing

As an update, I have received the necessary number of signatures, so the registration will be happening this week. Thanks to all for the interest and suggestions. I know there's a lot of folks on here interested on the progress of the group, so I will be sure to post updates here.

This is a valid point... I'd hate to have to sign a waiver to attend an event, or buy insurance for that matter
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Bingo. Did he trademark the name though?
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

I'm pretty sure Jeff has said he's trademarked the name in some way to keep certain breweries from using it.

As an aside from the thread discussion, I too registered Beerthief as a legal trademark for the things I choose to use it for; if you like the name you're using you might as well protect it.
I may be slow, but my work is poor
