Jezuz you guys don't speak Glace Bay at all!
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Ah shit, if I had kept up with this thread instead of drinking I could have left the passes at the box office for you. I worked our booth Friday morning and then left for home Friday afternoon, before it got busy.

Re: Official Stillwell Thread
Looks like fun, and we'll be seeing a few friendly faces down for the event, I reckon.
ps. SW adjusted their Sunday hours back(?) to 4pm-2am. So no more Sunday lunches.

Sunday was pretty slow. Looks like we will need to do Saturdays! Use it or lose it!

I'm there this Saturday Sandy at 12.00 for an hour if you are free for a pint. I need to get you a birthday pint some time, as wasn't able to get to RB on your birthday.GAM wrote:Looks like G-rock and I were 2 of the few Sunday users.

I prefer Saturday afternoons, rather than Sunday. I'm usually at home all day on Sunday, and try to avoid going in town.
It is quite slow there on the weekend during the early afternoon - I hope Saturday doesn't disappear as well!

Re: Official Stillwell Thread
I like Saturday afternoon as well, but have been known to go out before noon for a beer on Sunday, (but that's usually at Tom's Little Havana, pretty good IPA there). It would be a shame if early Saturday goes - admittedly it was a bit slow two weeks ago at 2pm, but was picking up by 4pm. Maybe it won't work out, shame if it doesn't.

I haven't found a good IPA there. They do rotate through quite a few locals now though, Bad Apple is on now. Uncle Leo's Smoked Porter a couple weeks ago when I was in. Good to see them rotating through the local breweries

I think it might have been a Garrison blend of some sort that was surprisingly good.
