I might try to drop in for a birthday pint or two after work tomorrow while I wait for the wife, if anyone is around.

In for lunch today. Sweet baby Jesus that Demigod is fantastic. And it's good too, but Sweet baby Jesus is no Demigod.

Wife and I were there for lunch today. Beer was great, food - nothing special. Had the Demigod- Nice! We shared the nachos with the black bean chili dip and the jerk wings. Nachos were OK, have had much better, and the black bean chili dip was full of chick peas instead of black beans. The jerk wings had to be the most unappealling plate of food I've ever been served in a restaurant - the deep fried all spice / nutmeg coating had a brownish / greenish hue, tiny wings just dropped on the plate with some wilted leaf lettuce. The taste was't all that much better. When I hear jerk chicken, I expect a little heat. Alas, there was no heat, just allspice and nutmeg. Oh well. At least the beer was good.

I hope you let them know the poor experience with the food. The more of us that chime in, the better.
I have no real interest in eating there anymore, which will limit my number of visits and beer consumption when I do visit. Very sad.

I posted in the rockbottom thread by mistake last week, but I was in Halifax on vacation and ate there. My wife and I thought the food was pretty good (I had the pulled pork and the wife had the fish and chips). I thought both were quite good. The service on the other hand was horrible. Our waitress was probably one of the worst I've ever encountered. A shame.

And unfortunately I didn't get to sample any of Greg's beers as none were one tap at the time. :(

The food of late down there as been better than it used to be but.... whomever was working the kitchen this past Sat was a train wreck. I was probably there when leafman was there, I ordered a salad for lunch.... and sent it back along with a few choice words about the 'gastropub' designation.

We are there a few times a year and usually have decent food. This is really the first time I can remember not having a good food experience. They'll most likely get another chance before we give up on them.

Summer is coming to a close and it's a warm sunny Friday afternoon so several of us are H&T bound. Come look for us on the deck before the sun goes down.

Sorry I didn't catch this :?

Fresh.o is still on, about 150 L remaining. The beers will go offline later this evening but should be back on tap by tomorrow evening as we perform some equipment swappage. Sweet Baby Jesus porter is all but gone, maybe 10 or 20 L left. Tapping a new DIPA on Wed or Thursday :cheers2:

I was going to head down for some hoppy hour birthday beers... but I guess that's not worth the trip based on the above post? I may go to RB instead... I was thinking of heading down just before 5.

Still debating but I think we're going to hit up H&T anyway due to proximity to the ferry.

If it came down to it I had planned to pick up the phone, but we decided to go regardless as the weather was so nice. I had a wonderful dinner on the patio and enjoyed the Fresh.O very much!
