Is this the same recipe as Fathom at Rockbottom? Tastes similar to me. Curious how closely related Nine Locks and Rockbottom recipes and businesses are given same ownership and brewers.

APA experiment #12-citra heavy APA with a significant amount of oats for body and melanoidin malt for sweetness. Needed two doses of gelatin to knock down the astringency but now it smells like mango and tastes like bitter fruit juice. head in the picture is ten minutes old.

Nine Locks...used to paddle there back in the day - right from Lake Banook start at Senobe CC through to Grand Lake. There the next day my old LeMans waited at Laurie Park with a trunk full of ice cold beer. Ugghhhh, I think it was Labatt Blue but it was welcome after a day in the gruelling sun and a night camped on an island in Lake William. I couldn't bring myself to cough up $4.15 for a can of something I can do...something about that $4 threshold. Anyway, I'm drinking a lagered Festa Czech Pils and swilling Coronas and limes whilst getting the pool ready. I'm patiently awaiting my Old Peculier all grain clone and anxious to start cooking some brews from Everwood Dave - extracts and all grains - propane and kettle outside for extracts and the Grainfather on rainy days. Life is good! :spilly:
At Bat: several Czech Pils
On Deck: Cream Ale
In the Hole: Kolsch
Clean Up: Tall Ships Ale clones
On tap: Propeller Pils, Festa Cream Ale

Lol. Miss those honking big cans. I used to get the 2liter Sapporos on a hot day - cruising between Asahikawa and Furano. Right out of a vending machine and ice cold. Onaji though...like most rice based brews...

Nice! I drove that route today, on my way home from golden week.. They don't have the beer vending machines anymore (except in onsens), cracked down a few years back on them

I'm wondering if anyone here has tried Molson's 1908 Ale. A friend of mine is a good beer judge, a recent convert to homebrewing and claims it's the best thing from Molson he's ever tasted. Any thoughts?

Lol...cracked down...my buddy and I used to laugh that if they were here in NS, they wouldn't last long as buddy would have a chain around one, drag it off and it would be sitting in his basement. So much different there...

La Saison Tradition from Brasseurs du Monde. Picked it up on my way through Quebec a couple of weeks ago. Excellent Saison with a very light acidic tartness. Appears to be almost a year and a half in the bottle. Wishisng I bought a few more bottles of it.

Craft beer bar called Beer Cellar in Sapporo. All Oregon beer on tap, interesting selection! The "Mornin' Sunshine" coffee/maple beer was quite good. Wish I lived closer than five hours

I am drinking ale today." ~ Poe

I tried it. Actually pretty good, but yeah... best thing "from Molson" isn't exactly a glowing review. I would rather have a bomber of something from boxing rock or equivalent if I was shopping NSLC.

Just drinking one now, I'll admit it's the best I've had from Molson. I picked it up out of curiosity but I won't be buying any more.

I had this today. I didn't really like it at all. Something about the hops, maybe. And I found the malt flavour a little... off. I don't know how to describe it.
