No sir, the're plastic shelled kegs with recyclable, replacable one-way bladders inside. The bladders have a standard sankey-d connection.Brewnoser wrote:But you will be using key kegs?

Oh you're using those! Yeah - a superior product I thought, just looking at the sales info. Have you used them? My friend Jean Benoit at Benjamin Bridge is wondering about kegs. What are those called again? PETKEG? Something with pet I thought?

Well what is the name? That is a name, right? Not Key Kegs. I'd like JB to look at them if you think they are good (as you must)

Re: Unfiltered Brewing Inc.
It seems what I had read about those a few years ago was wrong. Apparently some bozo blew one up and people thought they weren't safe. He apparently got it to 100 psi before it blew. They aren't made for that. And don't need to be.

Re: Unfiltered Brewing Inc.
Yeah those. Oh, and you're thinking about a totally un-related plastic-ass pressurized keg that blewup killing someone on a keg washer at a random uncontrolled pressure. Do not start a bunch of bullshit rumours about my kegs being the kegs that blow-up and kill people. Fuck! Unfuckingrealdotcom.

Re: Unfiltered Brewing Inc.
That's funny, except not really!
The poor bastards that manufactured the keg that killed that fella went down in a hurry. Too bad for all involved.
The pubklegs are actually a 20L PET bottle inside a soft plastic shell. I'm still testing another type as well but the Petainer brand is pretty awful by comparison. The PET 'bladders' in the Pubkeg are being cleaned and re-used by some homebrewers and nanobreweries, they come apart and reassemble easily, the D coupling is really solid and the shells are stackable. I might sell them off on the cheap as we use them up if any homebrewers are interested....

Yah. They are becoming very popular amongst home brewers because they can be cleaned and reused with a little sweat equity.
I can't wait to visit Thirsty and Miserable and order one of your beers. [CLINKING BEER MUGS][CLINKING BEER MUGS][CLINKING BEER MUGS]
It's probably not hard to find someone who will buy them once empty up there.

What's the major difference between a Petainer and a Pubkeg, other than the shell? Petainers are OK but super annoying if you want to un-couple them. I like Keykegs a lot for quality, but I understand they're fairly expensive. The new Keykegs are awwwwwsome.

I'll take a pubkeg if you're planning on selling them off - fun toy to play with!

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Unfiltered Brewing Inc.
Pubkegs are superior in every way, that's the difference. Keykegs suck by comparison, but then again they are cheap by comparison as well. A classic case of getting what you pay for. I dig quality and pay for the luxury. We'll see how the new Keykegs stack up though. Also: Fuck Petainers, they're garbage.CPR wrote:What's the major difference between a Petainer and a Pubkeg, other than the shell? Petainers are OK but super annoying if you want to un-couple them. In the tanks. I've decided to condition the hopbombs for an extra few months to enhance oxidation!!mr x wrote:Where's the beer?!
