Pulled the beer that is not up to his standards, no matter what the reason or cost. You can't get your reputation back, just ask {insert your diva here}.

The glycol chiller died today! Probably at least a 20 - 30 k replacement cost and there's none sitting around in stores with the proper specs so it's going to be a few weeks at least :problem:

Messie is good for now, I planned to hold it at ambient for two weeks for the dry-hop regime which just started. Another 2 or 3 weeks won't hurt since I can spat the hops out the conical so hopefully they will have it resolved by then :cheers2:

This is terrible news. Hopefully it's fixed before the summer is ruined.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Lay some pipe into the harbour and pump the wort through that to chill it.

That's crazy - one would think an industrial piece of equipment like that could be repaired - or is the repair cost more than buying a new one (or so close that it just makes more sense)?

Sorry for my ignorance: this just means a pause in the brewing schedule, and not that the current H&T beer on tap are not being served, right?

If that were the case, an army of Brewnosers would be down there tonight to fix it, one way or another.

I'm not sure, but I kind of thought the beer lines and serving tanks were glycol chilled also - unless there are two separate chillers?

It means nothing gets cooled in the serving tanks as well. Citra SMaSH sold out Monday evening and I kegged off the remaining 100 L of Raging Smack to pour through one of the other taps until it's gone :cheers2:

Buddy of mine just called me to see if I wanted to have a patio bite and beers...

I was like YES! - Let's go to the Hart & Thistle!

I've never been there and I hear they've got great craft brew on tap...

So I logged into Brewnosers to see what you guys will be serving and I read the message above...

Man am I heart broken... so much sun outside, do I go to Rockbottom for some custom brews or suck it up and enjoy the patio...

decisions decisions...

The H&T deck is pretty cool after 4 or so on days like these too.

Overall the situation sucks! DME is on a mission trying to find a chiller sitting on a shelf but no luck as yet, looks like we're going to be down for a while waiting to have one built from scratch. If that is the case I will either gear up a couple cold water baths to save the beers in process or keg it all off and carb via head pressure then serve :cheers2:
