Apparently now I'm getting a selection of these for my birthday coming up. My older son asked, and I said that's what I'd like. I'll be able to try them in an fully educated way now. Thanks.

Going to Halifax this coming weekend, I normally stop in at an NSLC and also Premiere to pick up something new, is Harvest Wines in Bedford worth checking out? Their website appears out of commission. If they just stock Propeller/Garrison then not much point stopping.

I don't care for the Innis and Gunn in the picture but it really like the one with the rum finish. I know I'm probably alone on that but how can you go wrong with beer AND rum in the same bottle? I'm going to try cloning it in the winter.

You can also go to Bishops Cellar on the water front.

It's not just Propeller/Garrison, but it's not much more than that. I got Boxing Rock Vicar's Cross for the first time there, and a couple others, but I don't remember seeing much that's not available at one of the better NSLCs and certainly not better than at Bishop's Cellar or especially Premier.

Bishop's will have Sea Level and Rare Bird Stout, Premier doesn't. Harvest has/had some Ayinger that neither of the other two had. They used to have Howe Sound, but that might be long gone.

Nothing from Howe Sound when I was through recently.

Started on my birthday NSLC beer selection yesterday. First impressions...it's going to be a bit of a chore. I wasn't long moving on to my own beer. I suppose they might be a sort of OK fall back on a "sad sad day" when the home brew runs dry.

Thanks, I won't have a lot of time to spend beer shopping so I guess I will just make my usual stop at Premiere.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Best drown your sorrys in that wonderful IIPA! I've had most of those but typically by the time I get to them I forget what they were like the next day haha.

When I was uninitiated in the ways of good beer Holsten was my go-to. I have no idea if I'd like it now, but it certainly doesn't strike me as a brew you'd enjoy! Keely thought Sir Perry looked interesting, but we've not tried it before. Are any of them actually *good*?

I think Keith is right and the Garrison DIPA will be good. I had that before on tap and it was, but will report back if any of the others are worth mentioning...might be a while as I stashed them in the cupboard for a rainy day. Except that is for the Famous Grouse scotch which we finished off with our friends and it gave me a bit of a headache. When I was in Scotland that's the one all the Scots drank.

I like to think I have the right idea. Not always the case... however I'm looking forward to this sweet cherry London porter I'm brewing Sunday.
