But speaking of private orders, a couple of us here in the area placed an order for 24 Red Racer IPAs, 24 Mad Tom IPAs, and 24 Smashbomb Atomic IPAs. That was two weeks ago so I'm guessing that they will be arriving soon.

Yeah, that's sketchy. Not a big fan of that at all to be honest.canuck wrote:As a business person myself, I know that you have to make some money, but man, that's a little excessive. TBH, it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth.
Yeah, it sure is. Like I mentioned earlier, I understand as a business owner that you need to make money........but price gouging like this is something that I really hate. Even if he sold them for $10, it's still 250% profit.jeffsmith wrote:Yeah, that's sketchy. With Bruce's beers now available at Tide & Boar, I'm not so sure if I will be again either.mr x wrote:Won't be dropping in there during this lifetime.

Thanks for the contribution Jimmy!Jimmy wrote:I should also add that I have nothing useful to add
Nail on the head. Also, because Bruce is running a business he's supposed to give up his own opinions and beliefs?mr x wrote:But the hoarding of stock from the beer event was a slap in the face to the beer community who support such events.
Yeah, that's definitely not cool. With the boom of the craft beer market, the options are only going to get better for people in the area - moves like that could certainly persuade customers to go elsewhere.jeffsmith wrote:Nail on the head. Good way to introduce yourself to Brewnosers.Rex Banner wrote:Araxi, I'd politely remind you of the old saying... "Don't bite the hand that feeds you".
This is directly from Canadian Beer News...
"He (Celtic Knot) will be brewing in 90 litre batches that will be released in kegs only, and will
initially be available exclusively at Marky’s Laundromat in Moncton."
You have every right to your own opinions, but using words like "appalling" are certainly
not going to do you any favours in negotiating for tap space (in my humble opinion) in the
future. You're an up and coming brewery with limited locations to offer your beer. I've enjoyed
your beer at the Laundromat, and I'd like to continue trying new styles as you introduce them.
We live in a small community and we should all respect the hard work of independent business
owners... such as yourself.
If I may come to the defence of Marky and the Laundromat... who have always treated me fairly...
the beer in question is a very large bottle (one litre I believe). I happen to feel that $18 for a litre
of beer is a very fair price regardless of what the establishment paid for it. If Marky had to purchase
this beer through "regular" channels, it would undoubtedly be priced MUCH higher. I also visited the
Laundromat recently and had the opportunity to enjoy a very nice IPA from Sawdust City (also from
the Brewers Bash) which I thought was very fairly priced.
Thank you.
Yup, a little "hi, I'm…" goes a long way though. Internet anonymity is a great/terrible thing.mr x wrote:As a side note, I have no issue with people coming on board to express their opinion. This forum is expressly for open debate, not sugar coated crap. Even in their first post.
Not that the OP will get a lot of agreement on this one...
