I'm busy working on details but will have it figured out soon, it may be a week long party since December 6th is also Rockbottom's 3rd anniversary :spilly: X)

There will be no beer this Wednesday, it'll be the following Monday or tuesday I believe. Still waiting on construction before I announce a firm date. Stonhard is coming in tomorrow to do the epoxy floor in the cooler and I should be able to move the bright beer tanks back in by Wednesday. :cheers2:

OK, will try to get down. PS Stonehard floors are in my basement! The guy who owned the house before us was an early distributor for them or something like that...

Right on that must be nice, Stonhard/Stoncorp is the shit, and very expensive. The epoxy and urethane flooring is amazing, I've had them do floors in a couple other breweries and Propeller had a section done by them a few years ago. The guy was telling me they've been going nuts at Oland's for months, stripping out the ceramic tile and laying down urethane, they also did Sleemans :cheers2:

Hope to see you down for the launch X)

Also, the DIPA is 8% ABV not 7.7% as I originally posted, not sure where I got that number from

This make's Nash's troubles with the renovations at Rockbottom look pretty trivial:

Lagunitas’ busted brewhouse arrives in California
Currently on tap: Whiter Shade of Pale!
In keg: .
In Primary: Nothing

At least this will inspire them for yet another unique name for whatever they next brew.

The cooler floor is over half completed so everything is on schedule, I feel comfortable making it official now! :cheers2:

Official launch is slated for Monday December 5th at opening

Beers for initial launch are as listed below and will be served in very reasonably priced 12oz or 18oz portions:

American Weizen
5% ABV 12 IBUs
$5.25 small, $7.25 large

English style Brown Ale
5.5% ABV 17 IBUs
$5.25 small, $7.25 large

West Coast IPA
6.9% ABV 70 IBUs
$5.50 small, $7.75 large

American Stout
6.7% ABV 70 IBUs
$5.50 small, $7.75 large

West Coast Double IPA
8.0% ABV 100+ IBUs (305 Calculated)
$6.50 one size fits all

Sampler boards will also be available :cheers2:

A couple side notes that might stoke a few of you...
- We've added my vegetarian friendly roasted garlic beer cheese soup to the menu!
- We're adding a cheese plate to the menu! I'm looking to hit textures and flavours that pair well with the beer across the board so expect to see nuts, bread, dried or fresh fruit and 3 or 4 cheeses with sharp cheddar, soft ripened and blue.
- We've been working on integrating beer into some of the standard menu items with mostly sauces, marinades and soups to start, more as we progress.
- We're also adding a selection of bottled beers from Premiere, 10 or 12 different beers to start. Possibly more as we move forward and gauge response.

I'm stoked! :spilly:

Yeah I was waiting for that :spilly:

It sure as fuck ain't no American Brown Ale. Obviously to be an English Brown Ale it'd need to be brewed in England so I decided to run with the North American brewing masses on this one and call it an English styled Brown which is what it more closely resembles, I suppose I could have called it a semi-imperial Brown though. If you think that's outrageous wait for my English style Double Imperial Brown Ale

Have a boo here and pay attention to the ABVs of the beers listed, some of which are brewed in England:

See now, even the Brits are getting with the times and bastardizing their own brews so we don't have to do it for them

Haven't you figured out yet that Nash is a beer style in itself?

I have! And I'm not sure I'm up to waiting for the Double Imperial English(-style) Brown Ale.

I know, and it sucks. Though I did only manage to find one British brewery in the first 80 entries - Blacksheep - with a Brown over 5.4% (which is the upper acceptable limit according to the BJCP style guide - which ain't God, but is probably as close as I can come to finding a definition). I like to be able to drink 3 beers and still be able to walk.

In the latest BA magazine (I know, I know..) there's an article on English Brown ales that talks about how there used to be (in 1930s ish) beer marketed as two somewhat distinct sytles: Brown Ales, and Double Brown ales. They were basically different by their OG/ABV (like we have Bitter and ESB..), and perhaps coulour, as well. Often one brewery would make both of these ales, and market the stronger one as a 'Double Brown;.

I know Whitbread used to make a Double Brown in the early part of last century. As the style is basically dead, number of breweries are working on bringing the style back (e.g. Cigar city). Doesn't seem like this Rockbottom beer would be too far out of place as an English Double Brown..

Well I'll leave it as an English style Brown for now until I whip up the uber version at 14.9% ABV  X)

Good work on the Double Brown info :cheers2:

In other news, the cooler floor 'should' be done right about now with enough time to cure overnight and get the tanks back in there tomorrow so I can reclaim the brewery tomorrow. Looks like it'll be next week before I can actually start the brewing of batch #6 :cheers2:

I am looking forward to that for sure!

Are you still on track to have them on tap by the weekend after this? I will be in the city this weekend and I was hoping to get a taste but it looks like I will have to head to the H&T for a pint of armpit sweat. :D

I hope that takes off. Me thinks $$$ and response will closely related on this one.

These are the nuts you must make. They are more addictive than heroin.

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
