It's a freaking shame about the Sea Level. I think I've now officially given up on bottles of Randy's stuff. Way too much of a Russian Roulette.
I think it's officially time for somebody to stop worry about local hops and a Nova Scotia malthouse, and maybe, just maybe...

concentrate on making good beer!!

After brewing a 7 hectolitre batch of IPA today, I am relaxing and having a couple of pints of my Belgian IPA. X)

Oatmeal stout, some ESB, a bit of red wine with the beef tenderloin and probably relax with more oatmeal stout during the hockey game.

I've heard great things about heady topper. Enjoy :cheers3:
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Had a few glasses of Kick In The Pils this evening. There's no way this is lasting March. SWMBO requests a 2nd batch be brewed post-haste!

gonnna have to look for this one.

http://nlbeerhistory.com/2012/03/17/qui ... itish-ipa/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Especially with my B-i-L and a buddy dropping in Thursday with whom I had the age old argument of weather Keiths IPA was a true
IPA. They said it was because if it said so on the label, then it must be true.
I did have many words to the contrary but this beer should set them a little straight if it lives up to it's label.

Drinking a pint of my Stone Ruination clone to try and make myself forget about the fact that it's 10:15pm and I've been working since 7am this morning…

Jeff, I'm sure that if you drank enough of them tonight you'd forget about your long work day......and mostly everything else as well. :drunk:

I'm currently having a pint of Picaroon's Yippee IPA.

Yep, it's out in the liquor stores. I picked up a 6er this week.
I'll have one put aside for Chris when he comes over again, so he can try it. ( sorry it is only one this time )
Also was talking to Anthony Sparrow about me finding Tank House on the shelf, and he said it is going to be a regular on the
shelf now, woo hoo.
Now only if they would stock some Propeller and Garrisons. I'm sure they could dump the Pump House shelf space and put them there.

Re: The QV IPA.

As far as I know it's only being sold at the brewery. Even then, when my friend went to pick some up for me one of the people working there hadn't heard about it. It's pretty nice, it's not too big on the hops, but, as the first IPA on the island for many years (aside from home brew!) it's a nice change!

Oh, and the glass in the first picture is a Heineken one that came free with a six pack at some point.

I have a better scan of the label from the bottles I had shipped up to Toronto on the (my) NL beer history blog.

I set off to try the new Acadie-Broue's Berliner Weisse in Moncton but was told they sold out in a day. So I had a Kostritzer Shwartzbier, a raftman, a little bit of the 11' ol'fog burner and am now home safe and sound drinking a IIPA from Garrison. All and all not a bad night considering how much work I should be doing :p
