Drinking my Pumpkin Ale. Serviceable beer, but not what I was looking for. Not enjoying many beers that I brew with Styrian Goldings.

Decided to grab one of my 1962 Pale Ale as well tonight. I dry hopped this second keg with 1/2 oz. of Citra. It's a ridiculously different beer with that little change. Fantastic!

So far I've enjoyed a trifecta of sorts. Rory's (Irish) Red, Northern Lights (Canadian Ale), and now a European Lager. Must say the Uncle Leo's glasses are doing the trick.
Tempted to grab another. I'm thinking the Honey Brown.

My RIS is starting to tease me after a few months of bottle conditioning. The Alcohol burn is starting to fade leaving a roasty, chocolatey mosaic in its wake. It's super thick feeling already. I can only Imagine after a year or so (I have 40 bottles left)

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
I tried the Gahan Pumpkin beer last night, being Halloweeny and all. It was decent. Typical, sweetish, with pumpkin pie spices. Not really my thing, btu I always have one at Halloween. Had Picaroons Harvest Ale today at lunch. Another good effort. Very Picaroons, just grassier/hoppier.
I drink to make others more interesting

Testing out the IPA I hope to send in to Big Spruce. In the dark. No power. Other side of street has power. Damn you NSPI.

Just finished off an Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale and am trying one of my IPA's which will be followed by another IPA and then perhaps a Chouffe Houblin triple IPA.

My novice palate.....an acid tangy front end with a fruity undertone and a nice strong bitter finish, I like this beer and would buy again without thought.GAM wrote:Thoughts?chicanuck wrote:Bridge Brewing Belgian IPA.

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
Grabbed some Belgian IPA when I realized it was out and that they were open to 9pm on Saturdays now.
I liked it. Citrusy hit at first with the Belgian yeast flavours taking over after that. I quite like it. Probably put it in the middle of their beers as far as how much I enjoyed it.

Nice haul!
Stationed in St. Andrews for the next 3 weeks, might have to make the drive to Hogan Road. Until then I am stuck with whatever they have at the liquor store here, so I am drinking picaroons yippee ipa

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
gm-: At SABS? When I'm there, I always head across to Calais, and can usually find some Sebago or Sea Dog or interested Sam Adams in Calais, but definitely worth a trip to Bangor.
I'll be in Woodstock this week, so will head across to Houlton and visiting the Thirsty Dawg. I was there last week and got some great beer. Even the 90% duty was worth it for the stuff I found.

Next door to SABS, at the Huntsman. Was going to head across to Calais tonight but realized I had left my passport in SJ, will have to wait until next weekend thenchalmers wrote:gm-: At SABS? In Calais, I have had the best luck at the Save Easy next to the Walmart. They have a craft beer section to the left of the store with Dogfish, Sebago, Geary's, Goose Island, Sierra Nevada, etc......it is not the freshest stuff but beggars can't be chooser's.gm- wrote:Next door to SABS, at the Huntsman. Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
They don't have much of a choice if they want to sell any beer, that Walmart beside it has an entire aisle of Natural Ice and Old Milwaukee 72 can Party Packs for $5.99.....so they are not going to sell any shitty redneck beer.jdobbs wrote:I was at that the grocery store a few times this year and I was surprised at their selection.
