Was good, i was expecting more banana taste but it was more of a mild after taste. It was good enough to curb my craving to make banana bread while living in a hotel with just a microwave...lol

I found the Banana bread beer OK also. At least it wasn't like that Crabbies Ginger Beer.
I'm enjoying a nice Smash Bomb clone right now. Love it more every time I drink it.

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
It's weird, Becky picked up 2 bottles of the IPA and 2 of the red. The first bottle we opened was the IPA and it was fantastic, we then opened the 1st bottle of the red - super plastic taste. Tonight we decided to open the 2nd bottle of IPA and it had that same plastic taste that the red did...there's something going on there; it's even huge on the nose.RubberToe wrote:For the record I tried the Uncle Leo's Red this evening and IMO it was nasty. Plasticy. I shared it with Andrew and he didn't think it was as bad as I did though.

Sounding like a bottling problem.

Also seems to go away a bit as the beer warms up. Either that or I'm just getting used to it since I refuse to dump it..

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
I just went to ratebeer and the reviews are hit or miss as well. It's definitely sounding like a bottling issue.
I particularly liked this one:
"Aroma of fruit, rubber and tires. Ruby red pour with a thin white head. Plastic texture. More burned tire in the flavour nasty chemical finish. Not enjoyable at all."

Brash the bollocks. It's a bit too boozy right now for me. It's borderline more an American barely wine at 12%...

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
Dug into the stash for a mini celebration - we FINALLY completed the purchase of a house.
We already plan on hosting a Brewnosers event; hopefully next summer. Hoping we will have the land cleared to the lake with some type of a dock/patio/hangout there by then...and there's 2 acres of tenting space

It's in Williamswood, about 15 minutes from the city, but it's where I grew up and we still have friends/family out there. It made the most sense if we were going to move outside of the city anyway.
