Way off-topic, but go to Tide & Boar, they'll have Cletic Knot, and hopefully this gem (if there's any left):LeafMan66_67 wrote:I'm in Moncton on Tuesday, so hoping to score something.
Attention all Beer Geeks, Craft Beer Lovers, and anyone else who have enjoyed a beer at last once in there life!!
We just tapped an amazing beer from Grimross Brewing Co. in Fredericton New Brunswick. Chantelope is a "Wild Beer", meaning it is fermented using a wild yeast called Brettanomyces.
Beyond that it is a Belgian Style beer, it is well balanced, similar to a Belgian Saison.
- Yeast = Brettanomyces Bruxellencis
- Similar grain bill as Cheval D'Or = Pilsner, Rye and Wheat malts
- Hops = Amarillo, Tettnang and Saaz
- 4 weeks from mash to keg
- 6.7% ABV
- 20 IBU
- 3.9 SRM
Appearance - Light gold with slight hazyness.
Aroma - Combination of floral, grass and straw.
Taste - Reminds of a rustic Saison, with slight tart lemon in the finish and low hopiness.
Overall - Well balanced and refreshing beer.

I'd strongly consider full S.W.A.T. gear, if available.chalmers wrote:Good luck to all, and wear a cup!

I can't see it being that bad this year, considering Marky can't clean out the moncton stores...

Hmm, I wonder if that means it's ready to be sold when the doors open at 10am?BasilD wrote:I just talked with someone from the Dieppe store.... they said its coming in tonight and will hit the store shelves tomorrow.

the guy was saying that it will take some time, they are getting 14% of the stock at that 1 store alone, so he thought that it would take sometime to get it all on the shelves. The truck will get there later tonight. I was asking since I am swinging through moncton on wednesday.

Re: NB Liquor Private Order
11,000 bottles in total are being distributed to the four stores, so 1540 bottles at that store will definitely take some time. I'm still guessing it will still be Wednesday.BasilD wrote:CurtisD wrote:Hmm, I wonder if that means it's ready to be sold when the doors open at 10am?BasilD wrote:I just talked with someone from the Dieppe store.... they said its coming in tonight and will hit the store shelves tomorrow.

I'm hoping to hit prospect street close to opening tomorrow. I'll post regarding the madness afterwards. Unless I get trampled that is.

Re: NB Liquor Private Order
I just picked up a variety of about 30 bottles at the Dieppe Regis St store. Very quiet...I was the only one looking at that section. Tall cans were $3, all the bottles I bought were $6 (mix of 650ml and 500ml).
I may stop into the Vaughan Harvey store tomorrow if I have time to see what else is there, but I won't be heartbroken if I don't.

Re: NB Liquor Private Order
Selection at Regis St was almost exclusively BC beers (Driftwood, Russell, Cannery, Hoyne), with a couple of Quebec ones as well (more Charlevoix, La Neufrageur, Brasseurs du Monde, and two more Trou Du Diable), plus some Double Trouble and Wellington Dark. Didn't see much in the way of 6- or 12- packs.
I suppose I will still try to hit VH tomorrow in search of more Quebec and Ontario stuff.

Yep, it was on its own shelf, where they normally stock the Picaroons.BasilD wrote:CurtisD wrote:Selection at Regis St was almost exclusively BC beers (Driftwood, Russell, Cannery, Hoyne), with a couple of Quebec ones as well (more Charlevoix, La Neufrageur, Brasseurs du Monde, and two more Trou Du Diable), plus some Double Trouble and Wellington Dark. Stopped in at the VH store this morning just after they opened...pretty calm, maybe 10 people with carts and lots of staff?
More variety than the Dieppe store so I picked up a few more things. All in all I'm pretty pleased with the haul!

Nice haul, Shane.
I think I ended up with 46 different beers between my two stops, but they're all boxed up and in the "cellar" at this point, so no photos, haha. Lots of IPA/Double IPA so I'd better get to them soon, though....

That's a great haul, Curtis!

At $362, I spent WAY more than I had intended on!
