Just picked up 6 Mad Tom and 4 McA IPA on Barrington.

MT is very "Piney" but not extreamlly bitter. No big malt presence. All most no head.
It's chilled to 13c in a pint glass.

I agree with you on the McA IPA - what did you think of the Mad Tom? I can't remember specifics, but I quite liked it at the time.

I really like the Mad Tom, though you're right, it doesn't come across as IPA level bitterness. Pretty good American Pale though.
The St. Ambroise is just kind of odd. Malty backbone of an English IPA but the hops just don't seem to match it. More acidic lemony citrus than it is grapefruit-like bitterness.

It would seem I didn't read Sandy's post very well... Thanks for pointing that out Greg haha. I guess I actually agree with Bobby as it turns out. Mad Tom was more an APA but quite good.
The St. Ambroise I did not care for.
I think I might stop by Tantallon on my way to the south shore after work today and see if they have the Mad Tom. Was it ever announced somewhere which stores are actually carrying the limited edition stuff? My dad works at the Bridgewater NSLC and they haven't got anything there, in spite of it being one of the larger stores.

Re: Mad Tom and McA IPA
I think the product page for each limited edition beer on the NSLC site lists which stores they're available in.

Yep - they only went to HRM stores though. Here's all the beer they have listed as new:jeffsmith wrote:I think the product page for each limited edition beer on the NSLC site lists which stores they're available in.
