At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Re: Some interesting beers for the travellers to look for

Well, Chalmers was good enough to bring back the dubbel from a road trip, and we had a taste out at John and Anita's. It was not good. Even if the price was $4.99 (which it certainly was not), I don't think there was value in this beer. It was like a watered-down version of a dubbel, and there wasn't much 'richness' to it.

Last time I do something nice for you people!

Yes, I was quite disappointed too. I didn't get much of anything from it, and would be surprised if more cellaring time did anything for it. And I don't think there was anything wrong with my bottle handling, but could be wrong.

Reminded me of the DeRanke XX Kai lugged back from Belgium for me. It was so awful...I wouldn't drop another $20 to find out if it was just a bad bottle.

I didn't think it was bad or anything, just nothing terribly special. I'd certainly drink it again but won't be looking for it.

I thought it was crappy. I wouldn't have finished that bottle. But that's me. :silent:

You could at least start a thread about the jackass that brought the infected bottle of hefeweizen :D
