"The beer, which will not be available for export, is meant to be sipped alongside such traditional nosh as “soured whale fat, burned sheep heads, soured sheep testicles, salted fish, shark, etc.,"

Bigger question, who was slamming down a bowl of soured sheep testicles and thought..."Gee, I wish I had a beer to drink with these sheep nuts that would really bring out the sour undertones."?

I checked last week, the closest he had was a walrus penis bone.
I bought it anyways, should make an interesting brew.

I was going to say you were swindled, and Walrus penises don’t have bones, but I Googled and they do. So it looks like you got the real McCoy, at Dave’s, as usual.

Another line that might work as well ..."I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob" (Beatles song).

Report back! I have a feeling we might have to go back to the drawing board on this :)

My countrymen are a bit wacky sometimes  Hope to taste some of that whale beer when I go over there in March/April.

The singed sheep heads are actually pretty good, and so is the salted fish and the shark. The soured ram testies (soured is not the right translation, they are pickled in whey) are an acquired taste and so is the sour whale blubber.

The sheep heads are so popular, that you can even get it in drive through. Few food pics from my last trip there:

Gives a new meaning to say you had Moby Dick in your mouth.

Some sad news, aparently that beer was banned before it hit the shelfs :o

Turned out that the whale meal that they were using was not fit for human consumption, so they were shut down by public health authorities.
