This may be a stupid Question, but....

Post by Brewnoser » Sun Jul 07, 2013 8:10 pm

Does Rogues have a new brewer? Did Lorne leave?

The reason I'm asking is that a friend was there recently and was treated to special attention by a guy who said he was the brewer, who was definitely NOT Lorne, and who seemed to be in charge.

Now, she is kind of attractive, so maybe Dougie was being Dougie...

But she knows beer, so she should have seen through a fraud.

She thinks his name was Jake, fairly young, she says.

He was acting to part of head brewer... :rockin:

I don't know abut head brewer but he's been heavily involved in the brewing there for some time. He posts on here from time to time and was out at last year's Hoptoberfest.

Yup.

Sent from Tapatalk 2, a prick of a company.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Jake has been assistant for awhile now from what I know. His IPA at rouges has been stellar. I've hear that Lorne was getting out of the game due to health reasons. I have not data to back up my statements.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I wouldn't call it stellar, when it's good it's good but when it's not... I think they have yeast and or temp problems.

Jake has worked there for years as both wait staff and brewer. Lorne was there the last time I was 2-3 weeks ago.
