Tried these two last night. I don't think either of these breweries understand what a wet hopped beer should be. Where is the wet hop flavour? Where is any hop flavour? These aren't bad beers, but as a wet hopped beer, they are both massive failures.
The Garrison bottles say 'ridiculous amount of hops'. I can only assume he means ridiculously small.....

Re: Garrison 3 Fields vs Propellor Alpha Dog
Ouch. I managed to miss trying the Alpha Dog (gave both of my bottles away while on trips), but I had high hopes for Randy/Andy's beer. I was underwhelmed by the 3 Fields, especially the non-wet hop Citra (I think. Or Sorachi Ace?) that was used in the late hops. If anything, I would have gone all wet hops at the end, if I couldn't do 100% wet hops (which is the only way to go, I think).

Re: Garrison 3 Fields vs Propellor Alpha Dog
I found Propellor Alpha Dog to be leaps ahead of 3 fields. However, I should say, being a beer novice, this was my first wet hopped beer, so I didn't exactly know what to expect. Nonetheless I was sad I could only get 2 bottles of Alpha Dog, it was delicious.
In both the bottles of 3 fields I had there was a strong metallic taste. The beer only became drinkable after breathing for ~20min and being allowed to warm up. Not sure what that was about.

You guys are lucky, I wasn't able to try either one, both were sold out when I went in to their respective storefronts. I am surprised by the negative reviews, I am still curious enough to give each one a go.

Maybe I'm just picky.

Thought the Garrison one was pretty lackluster but I really enjoyed the Propeller/Sea Level one (just wish it was around longer).
