Garrison Rye IPA

Post by Brewnoser » Tue Mar 26, 2013 12:39 am

So phenolic and astringent I couldn't finish the bottle. Add bitter hops to Spicey rye and a fermentation that must have been wild and you get a beer that is hot. Astringent. And difficult to drink. So glad I picked up some Pils which is excellent.

I enjoyed my bottle last evening. Found the hop aroma to be fresh and dank. My only complaints were that the bitterness and hop flavour seemed to fall off really quickly. At the back if the tongue all flavour seemed to completely drop off.

Yeah, I'd agree with that.

I've had a couple of bottles and it was just fine. Never had a Rye IPA before, but it seemed pretty run of the mill.

I really enjoyed it. Thought the rye gave it an interesting dry spicy twist.
