Rogues Roost Beer News

Post by Brewnoser » Sat Dec 11, 2010 5:17 pm

First, in case you have never tried it, Lorne's Barley Wine from last year is on tap now (Dec 11). It is an amazingly smooth, well made and tasty thing. Hard to believe it is 9%, but it is. The price is very fair, too. X)

He tells me he has a "Bigger" IPA in the works, 7% + abv and twice the hops use din his current IPA recipe. Brewed "for you crazy people". :cheers2:

Cool. When I was last there in the summer, I found all of the beers quite thin. Anyone else feel this way, or am I way off?

But the two mentioned above sound right up my alley!

The barley wine was a keg, so I think it's long gone...

Went over there the other night, wasn't particularly impressed with the IPA, but the Imperial Stout was pretty solid.

I tried the Brown Ale the other night, and it seemed watery and lacking body. I also had the raspberry wheat, which is a perennial preference of mine at Rogue's. I don't think it's spectacular, but I like it. Their IPA doesn't do it for me. I guess I'm one of the "crazy people" mentioned above.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.
