New Keith's is Surprisingly Delicious

Tried the new Keith's Low Tide White IPA at a party the other day. It is shockingly good. The beer snob in me really didn't want to admit it, but if you'd given me that brew and said it was from a new NS micro, I would have given it an immediate thumbs up. Hurts me a bit to do it, but, Keith's, thumbs up it is!

(I think I might actually buy some, as it hits a category otherwise not available at the NSLC (Belgian IPA/White IPA).)

Anyone else tried it yet and want to offer an opinion (conflicting or otherwise)?

50% Golden Promise malt, Amarillo, Cascade, Mosaic and El Dorado ...and seaweed, 60 IBU and "slightly cloudy". What's going on? Are the big breweries moving into craft beer? Have Keiths really made an IPA now?

I will say rockhead has craft white IPA and Belgian IPA options if you want to avoid giving money to InBev.

Picked this up after hearing good things in this thread. Keiths has really made a decent IPA with this one. Hoppy with a nice bitter finish.

I am not all up on the who owns who of beer companies but it seems like Keith's is one of the only macro's trying to adapt under their own name. First the hop series, and now Cornerstone, Lunenburg, and Fundy. They appear to be making a decent effort to adapt. I have not had a chance to try Lunenburg as I am not a fan of cold coffee beers, but Cornerstone and Fundy are decent.

Haven't managed to try this one yet, but I'm calling too little, too late for Keith's on this one. We're past the days of "well, it's not terrible" being good enough for the big guys to appeal to real craft beer drinkers. So no matter how good it is, there are too many better options out there now to generate enough interest for me to go out of my way to try it. That's not to say I won't give it a fair shake if I happen across it - the Cornerstone wasn't bad, just boring and the "Edinburgh Pale Ale" moniker is more marketing effort to create tradition that doesn't exist, while the Lunenburg was a decent Chocolate/Coffee heavy sweet stout - but it's never going to be something most craft buyers become repeat customers of, and perhaps more importantly, isn't going to attract Keith's drinkers who are moving on to other things.

I'm totally okay with this trend. While craft brew is somewhat tied up in the buy-local and support-the-little-guys movements, it really seems like it was a response to the bland slate of options from the big breweries. If the craft movement is causing the big brewers to wake up and expand their offerings beyond lowest-common-denominator lagers, that's a great thing.
