I was kidnapped and ended up at Paddy's W-ville. Lots of empty tables but we waited 1/2 hour to sit and were 1.5 hours for a beer and a snack.

I hope this is not the norm. We were not in a hurry but they didn't know that.

Sandy, We're usually there around 5.45pm Fridays for supper and no problems. Wolfville has swarms of students during term time, and places like Paddys get flooded later on.

Seemed 1/2 empty. We could not see any reason for the holdup. I would have called you and arrange to meet up but I was not in control.

Maybe they recognize trouble when they see it. :)

I've seen that sort of thing several times at other restaurants. A mix between not enough staff to accommodate additional people (which sounds like the situation you were in, for 1.5 hr for a beer and snack), or to give the perception of being more full popular than it really is.

Both reasons are shitty, and I'd suggest you let them know about the poor service. Who knows, maybe they had someone not come in who was scheduled, but that's why there are contact lists and fall back plans.

How was your beer?

For sure!!

The staff were complaining of not having enough glasses (in a Pub) and had no problem chatting by the bar.

I am complaining but more to find out if we hit an "off" night or if a change has happened. Also the "Beer Store" closed at 5:00pm on a Saturday!

Sandy, I think you should ask. I never had trouble at Paddys, but as I said, we go earlier in the evenings. Many a time I have seen a line up at the Port and got back in the car and gone to Paddys instead. Service can be slow at the Port, and a line up ahead of that isn't worth it. Let us know.

I saw brewer Kirsetn at the bar in Paddy’s Wolfville tonight and took my half-drunk pint of AVA up to her and said to her, “This beer is terrible…” pause, followed by that whimsical, bemused, half concerned, relaxed but attentive look from her. I’m trying to describe that look, and not doing well, but those who know Kirsten, know that look well, unless it’s just the look she gives me. And I finished up what I was saying with “ly good” (as in “terribly good”). Got a laugh out her in her frenzy of buzziness.

It was a really good, on the way home from work on a Friday evening, pint, after a long week.

I really enjoyed that pint tonight, So did Kathleen. Keep brewing Kirsten. The AVA is so good these days.

Sandy, they were a bit under staffed tonight. The waitresses and Kirsten were flying around like crazy. Service, beer and food was great though. Early evening again.
