Pump

Post by Graham.C » Wed Jul 16, 2014 9:06 pm

Hey Guys, Long time no... forum?! That can't be a saying. Anyways, I have missed the club. I find the network in Ottawa is nowhere as awesome as you folk.

I will be in Halifax for my girlfriend's brothers wedding in two weeks and I was asked if I could find a bronco pump for the rehearsal dinner. Does someone have something equivalent I could borrow/rent/trade for? I just need it for the night of the 24th and I can bring it right back the next day. I figure someone has to have something that can tap a commercial keg.

It would be a huge help! Thanks and hope everyone is doing well. :spilly:

Good to see you're still around. [PERSON RAISING BOTH HANDS IN CELEBRATION]
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

Still here. I still check out whats going on in the forums when I can, but my first year in Ottawa has been hectic. Only had the chance to brew a couple of times! :o

For those folks, like me, who didn't know what that was:

I'm pretty sure Propeller or Garrison will have these for borrowing/renting. You're getting the beer from them, right, so they'd include it with the keg rental, I'd imagine. Not pouring some BMC swill, I hope! ;)

I think its from Big Spruce, but I'm assuming they don't have any otherwise I wouldn't have been asked to find one. I guess I just need some CO2 and a snaky conversion, not necessarily the hand pump.

Just spoke with Jeremy at Big Spruce, they provide hand pumps with the kegs or a jockey box if you have multiples.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I don't know why I didn't contact them first. You are correct, they rent them out with the kegs. Thanks.
